Spring time is calling to us again. Although it is still just February, I'm dreaming of Spring and keeping myself occupied with my plans for the new year.  The garden spot is begging to be tilled up; the germinated seeds in my window sill are waiting to stretch out their dainty roots into the cool waiting earth.    On the list of trials this year is to raise more of the goat herd's feed needs for the year.  Corn, sunflower, and our own hay are the top three goals in mind.   Any one with good experiences in these areas are welcomed to write to me and share your experience.  You just can't go wrong with a field of blooming sunflowers, whether they are useful or just for their delightful beauty.
As of today, one baby has arrived in the bundle of a little girl we call Lizzy.   She is the image of her mother but carries her sire's beautiful genetics as well.  Lizzy is bouncing and spinning in the barnyard and keeping us entertained as we await the arrival of more kids.
Being a person who lives off of inspirations, I have one to share with you.  A year ago, my Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  It has been a year of reflection for me, of realizing I am on the verge of  great changes.....there's been mourning for the loss of my parents seeming immortality....
At the same time there has been the good side of things at work.  My siblings have gained a great momentum from my father's illness....they have shared with me their motivation to accomplish their goals, to realize their dreams while they are here on this earth and while they are well and able.  I've been a little too sad to care for dreams and the winter season has fit my mood perfectly.  But as Spring time tempts me, as it always does, I am rekindled inside.  I am here, alive, well, and have thoughts, dreams, purposes inside that can be expressed now, while it is TODAY.  My siblings are adventurous people....skydiving, canoeing, search and rescue, hunting, and traveling are only a few of their passions in life.  My brother has recently pursued a dream to play the bagpipes and my sister to learn piano.  My life expressions are much more subdued than theirs and yours may be as well, but to express!! them is the point of the matter.   If you are reading this, your passions may well be similar to mine, so plant your seeds, raise your goats, smell the fresh air and take your place in life's portrait.  You will make ripples in the water that will go on forever and only you can make them! :)
     Spring is upon us!
