Tennessee Fainting Goats
****Welcome Friends****

Welcome to Four Oaks Farm and our beautiful herd of Tennessee Fainting Goats.  We appreciate your stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.
Fainting Goats are a wonderful and unique breed.  Easily fenced and handled, they are a great choice for the homestead, commercial breeder, or as back yard pets.  We have found them to be excellent mothers and typically produce twins. Known by many names:   Myotonic, Nervous Goat, Stiff Legged Goat, Wooden Legged, Scare Goat, and Fall-over Goat, they are an American land race breed said to have it's origins in Marshall County, Tennessee.
Since our beginning in 2003, our goal at Four Oaks Farm is to produce healthy, physically correct, and colorful goats that will thrive with minimal care. We have selectively bred excellent quality fainting goat stock in order to contribute to the preservation of these rare and beautiful animals.  If you have in mind filling your fields with a beautiful and graceful herd of goats, showing goats, or just enjoying a few adorable pets, we have the stock to help you meet your goals.
Our stock is registered with the Myotonic Goat Registry and we are also  privileged to be part of the conservation work of the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy where the Tennessee Fainting goat is listed as a rare breed.  Click here for short history and  nice description of the breed itself.
If you are new to animal husbandry or are an experienced breeder, we hope to be a part of your ongoing experience.
